The price of Markhor trophy hunting license has increased by 566 percent since the initiative has been launched in 1998. The trophy hunting scheme was launched in 1998 and the first license cost US$ 15,000. However, a license for a Markhor trophy fetched US $ 100,000. A total of four licenses for Markhor hunting were auctioned by the KP at the cost US$ 392,000. Three licenses fetched US $ 100,000 each while the fourth one $ 92,000.
