HIV/AIDS Epidemic In Pakistan: Stigma Major Barrier To Effective Response

Islamabad: Social and cultural stigma is cited as a major barrier to accessing prevention and treatment by those suffering from HIV/AIDS epidemic in Pakistan.

Stigma, fear of ostracisation, discrimination and lack of awareness of causes lead to differential of treatment of HIV/AIDS sufferers that is now well recognised and acknowledged after almost over two decades of awareness work.
