Islamabad: ‘One nation, one education system’ echoed in the corridors of power soon after the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) won the elections in 2018. This led to the much-talked-about educational reform in the shape of the Single National Curriculum (SNC), aiming to bring the public educational system of the country on the same footing as the private educational resources accessible to the upper economic class of the society.

A Mountain to Climb Everyday

Quetta:  Saima*, was a coal miner’s wife and a domestic worker herself, residing at the foothills of Koh-i-Murdar. One fateful morning, she rose only to find out putrefied food in the kitchen which she went out to dispose of down the foothills. This is where she slipped off and lost her life.

Had it not been for a shepherd to witness the unfortunate incident, nobody back home would find any clue about the incident as everyone was asleep then. “I heard a shepherd shouting.  I and another man from a nearby house rushed out.

DigiMAP Quarterly Meeting – Muree (July 2022)

Digital Media Alliance Pakistan (DigiMAP), established in November 2020, is moving forward on the implementation of its core agenda of promoting the rights of non-legacy digital media platforms. To discuss the progress of different initiatives, all members of DigIMAP met in Muree on 22nd July.

  • Following developments took place in the meeting:
  • DigiMAP’s new and improved website formally launched
  • DigiMAP members briefed on the status of the Pubic Interest Journalism Project, where member organizations will collectively produce 100 stories on diversity and marginalized communities.
  • Braining storming on formulating a new communication strategy for DigiMAP.
